Heim|lich maneuver «HYM lihk»,
a procedure to prevent choking on something lodged in the windpipe by grasping the victim from behind and locking one's hands in a fist over the victim's upper abdomen and with a quick squeeze forcing the fist up under the diaphragm to expel air through the windpipe.
